    BRIEF INTRODUCTION

The RADIO-DIAGNOSIS, today is one of the top speciality among all the medical disciplines. The discipline evolved with invention of X rays by well known German Physicist Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen way back in 1885. He is called as “Father of Radiology “for his contribution: Discovery of X rays. Almost a century afterwards, it was only conventional Radiology that was providing Diagnostic services to the Medical field. X rays were immediately utilised for Medical Radiography soon after their discovery. But the revolutionary imaging techniques like Ultrasonography (USG), Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) are included around 1980 & 1990’s have totally revolutionised the Medical diagnostic field. Today all the other medical specialities are utilising the diagnostic services for treating sickness of the mankind. The newer imaging modalities have lessened the burden of diagnosis by clinical skills for the treating doctor to a greater extent. Today with these imaging techniques we are providing accurate and reliable diagnosis to the clinicians and we have made their job easy. Lot of research and developments are on the way thus adding newer imaging techniques and expanding the horizon of our speciality.

The Department aims to excel and has an incremental role in several outstanding developments in the field of Genetics, Museum based learning and 3D multimedia projector teaching program.

Students will discover here a dedication to maintain high standards in both education and research and thereby utilize the wealth of resources for career aspirations.
